This should be built in.
Until then, there’s ScrollPilot.

macOS shows separate scrolling controls for your mouse and trackpad.
Change either one, and both devices change. ScrollPilot fixes the frustration

GOOD TO KNOW

A few little
details.

Small app. No big mysteries.

Why do I need ScrollPilot?

macOS has separate natural-scrolling controls for your mouse and trackpad, but both change the same system-wide setting. ScrollPilot automatically switches that setting as you move between supported devices.

Which devices are supported?

Automatic switching supports a trackpad and a Magic Mouse. You can also toggle natural scrolling manually from the ScrollPilot menu.

Why does it need Input Monitoring?

ScrollPilot needs Input Monitoring permission to detect which supported device you’re using. Enable automatic switching in its menu, grant access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring, then restart ScrollPilot.

Can it start when I log in?

Yes. Enable launch at login from the ScrollPilot menu to have it ready when you start your Mac.

Automatic switching isn’t working. What should I do?

First, check Input Monitoring permission and restart ScrollPilot. If an older or differently signed build is listed, quit ScrollPilot, remove the stale entry from Input Monitoring, open your current build, and request access again.
